Island Clean Energy Workshops
More than 25 government leaders, energy office officials, and utility company executives from the U.S. Virgin Islands attended a workshop at the National Renewable Laboratory in Golden, Colorado, in February 2010.
Island Clean Energy Workshops provide island clean energy leaders and advocates with in-depth information on energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies; strategy and policy development; and energy efficiency and renewable energy deployment.
Workshops are designed to address common barriers islands face in advancing clean energy development. Energy efficiency and renewable energy experts present specific solutions, as well as concrete examples and lessons learned.
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Technologies
To achieve greater energy independence, islands must use the energy they have efficiently and develop their indigenous, renewable energy sources wisely. Accurate information on clean energy technologies as it applies to island environments provides island government and business leaders with the knowledge they need to assess available resources and make informed decisions at the outset of clean energy projects and initiatives.
